These photos are not from a Halloween party. They are from Truman Capote's infamous Black and White Ball at the Plaza Hotel in 1966. I'd much rather look at these masked revelers than people dressed up as Snooki and The Situation. Those were the days. Sigh.

Chic Autumnal Decorating Ideas
One of my readers asked me to post about chic Halloween decorations. I don't really decorate for Halloween so I suggest visiting Martha Stewart who has an entire magazine dedicated to the holiday. I do however enjoy decorating for autumn and I'm sure most of these ideas could be modified for Halloween. Even though orange is my favorite color, I happen to love the look of white pumpkins. They are perfect for creating chic autumn or Halloween decorations. Happy October!

Black Magic
Everyone seems to consider black walls just a trend but by the looks of these chic noir interiors, I'd say they are on the way to becoming a classic design hue. I am especially loving the black magic look of the dark kitchens and libraries. It's clear that black isn't just for Halloween anymore! Enjoy!
