Pondering the Future

Note-The lack of blogging lately is in no small part due to lower back problems. You can bet I would have been in early on the Alabama Rig buzz had I been able to comfortably sit at the computer.REUTERS/Frank PolichI don't think it's an exaggeration to say Christian Ponder got off to a great start as the Vikings starting QB, when he nearly through a TD on his first pass and soon after that found

Viking Season Almost Down the Drain

The hope was McNabb could have a good year and so would go the Vikings team. Obviously that hasn't happened. I don't think McNabb deserves too much blame for the way things have gone. I mean tonight vs. the Bears he played pretty darn good and yet it was by far the worst loss we have taken all season. To start the game our receivers couldn't catch the ball and our secondary gave up a big play

Unbelieveable

The Vikes have had double digit leads going into half-time every game this season. The Viking are 0-3. This really remarkable. Losing a 20-0 lead, Really!!!I'm not going to kill the coach for going for it on 4th down in field goal range. As far as I'm concerned that one could go either way given our history this season and the way the Lions had been moving the ball; They should have made the

Vikings Second 2nd Half Collapse

Two weeks into the season and the purple has held the lead at halftime twice. This week the lead was 17-0 and the Vikings are now 0-2. This really doesn't bode well for the season as we just could not afford to lose a home game. In the 2nd half there were a couple of questionable calls by the ref's that just killed the Vikings and a few Viking mistakes that were equally as damaging. I am not

1st Viking Blogging of 2011 Season

Not sure why I have been mum on the team up to this point. Maybe because I've been taking a wait and see attitude. I think getting Donovan was a good move for the team. Hopefully he will have a good year. But even with a good year for Donovan things might be tough for the purple in 2011. As week 1 shows, we are in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL and we don't have an easy schedule in

UFF DA!!!

Leslie Frazier has his work cut out for him. The NFC North looks to be the best Division in the NFC for the next few years with at least two of the premier quarterbacks and defences in league to be faced 2 times a year. And who knows how good the rapidly improving Lions can get.Hate to say it, but the Vikes might be into a rough patch for the forseeable future. Huge quarterback questions,

Vikings- Crazy Play Ends Crazy Season

If you didn't catch the last play of the Vikings game today you missed out. It was a backward passapalooza and a fitting end to this eventful season. Hopefully it will be posted on You Tube by somebody.Personally I am glad we lost to Detroit because we will get a better draft pick because of it. The Vikes need all the talent we can get. As of right now I don't think the outlook for next

Joe Cool

Rookie Vikings QB Joe Webb has led the Vikings to an improbable Tuesday Night football victory in Philadelphia over the Eagles 24-14.SKOAL VIKINGS!!! The Vikings Defence played probably it's best game of the year, scoring what I believe was it's 1st defensive touchdown of the year. The offence only had one insignificant turnover, when AP had the ball kicked out of his arms as he was falling to

Vikings Season of Insanity Continues

Just turned to NBC to learn Vikings game is postponed until Tuesday. I wonder if a NFL team has ever had two games postponed in one season.Just one more unbelieveable turn in the Saga that is the Minnesota Vikings Season 2010.

Vikings Loss to Giants Rehash

That game was not the embarrassment this season's home loss to Green Bay was, but still it wasn't good. I think this game clearly showcased just how poor the Vikings offensive line is at this point. If you don't know, two starters are out including our best lineman Steve Hutchinson. Peterson couldn't rush the ball and Jackson was pressured all night. Of coarse, the Giants have a good defence

Update: WOW Blizzard Collapses Metrodome

Looks like the Vikings are going to lose dome field advantage for the rest of the season.I'm just glad no one got hurt.

Wow!!! Blizzard Postpones Vikings Game!

Vikings game with Giants is moved to Monday nightUp here we only got 3 to 4 inches of snow. It's really something when a football game played indoors gets postponed due to snow.

Vikings Game Ball- Sidney Rice

Sure AP had 3 touchdowns and T-Jack filled in for #4 and we scored the most points we have all season. But to my mind the biggest factor of that goes to Sidney Rice with his two amazing touchdown grabs. The first touchdown took a near certain interception and turned it into 7 points and the second touchdown was yet another remarkable display of receiving ability. It's not difficult to say, this

Vikings Fire Brad Childress

Maybe instead of the No Cheese logo I used on Sunday, I should have had a No Chili logo (except I can't find one of those on the ready in Google Images). If you have read my blog before you know I was all on the Fire Chili bandwagon from the second he let Randy Moss go. In all likelyhood the change to Leslie Frazier is to little to late. At this point as a fan for this season, I want to see

Da Bears Beat the Vikings 27-13

This one was basically over before it began because of the injury to Bernard Berrian and the continuing absence of Sidney Rice. I'm sorry but a receiver corps of Harvin, Lewis, and Camerillo spells serious trouble for Adrian Peterson against a good Bears defence who could stack the box in any possible running down. For this game outside in windy Chicago running the ball was critical. Peterson

Sweep Those Bears!!! (or Weep)

Today is the first Vikings vs. Bears game of the season. I think any Vikings playoff hopes at this point ride on beating the Bears in both meetings this season. Last year we split, but swept Green Bay. The Vikes already lost to Green Bay and to be honest I think the Vikes don't have much chance of catching the Packers for the Division title. I think a wild card at 10-6 or 9-7 are possible,

Randy Moss Released By Vikings

Randy's GoneSeriously Chilly? You do know that most of us fans would rather see Moss in purple than YOU. On Facebook yesterday my brother Todd called for Chilly's head, so we can elevate D-Coordinator Leslie Frazer to head coach. Honestly, I don't think that is that bad of an idea at this point.I'm officially on the Fire Chilly bandwagon.

Vikings Loss At New England- My Take

At 2-5 it isn't quite time to stick a fork in the 2010 Vikings season, but it is getting pretty darn close to that point. You have to figure there is a 1 or maybe 2 loss cushion at this point.I, along with many I'm sure, thought Chilly should have kicked the fieldgoal instead of going for it on 4th and short at the end of the 1st half. The Vikes have already paid for not taking points once this
