Very Vogue

I wish someone would sneak into Vogue and steal that short dark wig that they love using but other than that, I'm excited for the November 2011 issue.  It's nice that they put a relatively unknown actress, Rooney Mara, on the cover.  I'm sure that won't be the case for long since she's starring in the upcoming American version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Probably helps that she's heiress to two major football dynasties.  Another heiress featured in the magazine is Aerin Lauder, although, I'm not sure she would ever use that word to describe herself.  I can't wait to hear more about her new solo venture, Aerin, which should debut in fall 2012.  Happy Reading!

Chic on Crosby Street

Crosby Street is one of my favorite places in New York.  Even though it's a block from Broadway, it's always quiet.  I'm a little jealous that Devon Radziwill lives on this chic street but excited to peek into her loft via APT with LSD on Vogue.com.  Needless to say, I love the artwork and library.

Rooftop Retreat

There was so much to look at in the September issue of Vogue that many might have overlooked this stunning rooftop apartment.  It's owned by Claude Wasserstein and was designed with help of interior designers Jacques Grange, Jeffrey Bilhuber, and Daniel Romualdez.  Usually, combinations like that could result in a mash up of styles and ideas but it all seems to work here.  I wish there were more photos since I know there is probably even more chicness to be found.  As much as I love that living room and the bed hangings in her daughter's bedroom, it's the terrace with real grass that blew me away.  I have to go to Central Park for green space that big but Ms. Wasserstein just has to step outside.  How fabulous is that?!

The Fashion Royal Wedding

It may not have been held in Westminster Abbey but the wedding of Kate Moss to Jamie Hince was no less royal.  They had the same photographer, Mario Testino, but unlike the other Kate, this one made the cover of the coveted September issue of Vogue.  It was a surprisingly elegant affair which was Kate's plan according to her mum, “Kate wanted something elegant—not what people thought she might do.”  All of fashion royalty attended including Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and Naomi Campbell among others.  Looks like brides everywhere will have beautiful new inspiration for their upcoming nuptials. Mazel tov!

Minnie in Malibu

I wish I had seen the APT by LSD on Vogue.com feature on Minnie Mortimer's Malibu home earlier.  Since she's an avid surfer, it would have made the perfect follow up to my Surf's Up post.  I'm waiting for new bookcases to arrive so I was very taken with all her fabulous built-ins.  There is also nothing I love more than seeing what's on someone else's shelves.  The bookcases will flank my sofa so that means I can't hang the art until after they arrive.  I can't wait to create a new gallery wall like Minnie's.  I love her mix of artwork and photography.  Another example of buy what you love and you'll find a place for it.

Kids and the City

This week has me behind on everything including my magazine reading.  I can't wait to take a break tomorrow to leaf through the August issue of Vogue with Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover.  I love the photos of her and her family by Mario Testino in what may or may not be her home.  Reminds me a little of Halston's old townhouse.  Regardless, it's clear that SJP has transitioned from Sex and the City to the chicest soccer mom ever.

Update: One of my alerted me to the fact that the house in the spread belongs to a friend of SJP and is located in Chelsea.  Just have to find out who owns it now!
