The Bride Wore Lavender

It's a good thing that Sofia Coppola decided to get married in Italy this weekend and not anywhere along the East Coast. She married Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars in the garden of her family's villa in Bernalda, Italy, the town where her grandparents were born. Her lovely lavender dress was made by her fashion designer friend Azzedine Alaïa.  Due to his feud with Anna Wintour, this is one wedding that probably won't be making the pages of Vogue. Best wishes to the happy couple!

The Fashion Royal Wedding

It may not have been held in Westminster Abbey but the wedding of Kate Moss to Jamie Hince was no less royal.  They had the same photographer, Mario Testino, but unlike the other Kate, this one made the cover of the coveted September issue of Vogue.  It was a surprisingly elegant affair which was Kate's plan according to her mum, “Kate wanted something elegant—not what people thought she might do.”  All of fashion royalty attended including Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and Naomi Campbell among others.  Looks like brides everywhere will have beautiful new inspiration for their upcoming nuptials. Mazel tov!

Fabulous French Wedding

A friend recently asked for wedding site referrals to help his friend plan her wedding in Barcelona.  While I don't think it would be right for Spain, his request did remind me that I never posted photos from this fabulous wedding in France.  I saw it in Veranda magazine and all of the details really caught my eye. What's not to love about a wedding at a Chateau with Laduree macarons and butterflies from Deyrolle?!  To read the entire story and start drooling, click here.

A Blue and White Wedding

When I saw the photo of Minnie Mortimer's wedding reception in The New York Times, I thought the table looked beautiful.  I never found any more photos until last week when I was looking at Carolyne Roehm's website.  The rest of the details are just as lovely as I knew they would be and are definitely going in my wedding inspiration folder.  I also love that Minnie didn't wear a strapless dress.  They full announcement of her nuptials to director Stephen Gagan in the Vows section is worth the read.

Flower Girls

After you have Queen Quills Calligraphy address your wedding envelopes, you can hire the lovely ladies of Saipua to create all your flower arrangements. I found these photos of a wedding they designed this past weekend at The Bowery Hotel on Milk and Mode and couldn't help but want to also post them. They are beyond gorgeous! The illustrations on the menus, table numbers and programs are by Rifle Design. These resources are definitely going in my future wedding file. Now if anyone knows any eligible bachelors, send them my way!
